About Julie's Cocina

Julie and Family

Julie Ribera of Julie's Cocina in Marble FallsJulie Ribera was born in Johnson City, Texas. She has lived in Round Mountain for 49 years and has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. She has been in the restaurant business for 25+ years where she has co-owned and managed 2 different Mexican restaurants. In March of 2009, she decided to live out her dream and open up a Mexican restaurant that not only takes pride in its food but also creates a distinct family atmosphere that friends, family and customers would enjoy! For the next 6 months her family helped her seek out this idea and in October of that same year, she opened up her doors for the first time in Cottonwood Shores, Texas. On that day Julie's Cocina was established. Julie enjoys coming into her restaurant every day to see new and familiar faces. She trusts her employees to keep customers satisfied and does her best to keep a lively atmosphere while always trying to find ways to improve on a day-to-day basis. Nowadays it is hard to find traditional Mexican food but look no more because here at Julie's Cocina, she makes sure without a shadow of a doubt that you have found that place.

Julie Ribera and Frankiw MarquezFrankie Marquez was also born in Johnson City, Texas. He spent his childhood and teen years in Round Mountain. He currently resides in Marble Falls with his fiancée, Casey Espinosa. His wedding date is expected sometime around June 2012. Frankie and Casey have 2 boxer dogs, Achilles and Athena, with whom they spend a lot of their time when they are not busy managing their busy lives. Casey has waited tables and has been a hostess during the summer months when she is not teaching. You will see Frankie occasionally managing when they are short-handed, but mostly he is behind the scenes handling the financial, marketing and maintenance part of the business. Frankie's favorite dish would have to be the Beef Fajita Plate, while Casey enjoys the Tortilla Soup and Chalupas. They both enjoy doing their part to help the restaurant succeed and also watching mom and future mother-in-law fulfill her dream.

Elizabeth Langhein was one of the lucky locals to be born in Burnet and grow up in Round Mountain. Elizabeth continues to choose Round Mountain as her home with her wonderful husband, Travis, and two beautiful children, Adisyn and Kaden. In addition to helping her mom, Julie, she works in the front office at the Scott & White Clinic in Horseshoe Bay.

Elizabeth started with Scott & White in 2006 and has continued to succeed within their organization. Travis, her husband, is a Journeyman Electrician and currently working towards becoming a Master electrician.

Both Elizabeth and Travis have been raised on Julie's food. So if you're looking for advice, Elizabeth says try the Chicken Enchilada Plate and Travis says the Pork Chops are his favorite.

Ashly Marquez was born in Burnet, Texas and grew up in Round Mountain where she spent her entire childhood there. She attended and graduated from Johnson City High School. She graduated cum laude with an undergraduate degree in finance from St. Edwards University in Austin. She currently works at University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) as a Financial Service Representative and loves it! Her hobbies include spending time with her family and hanging out with her friends. She also enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities! The distance between Austin and Cottonwood Shores limits her ability to help out at the restaurant, but she tries as much as possible to be there on the weekends.
